Control of transportation conditions, quality, and quantity of cargo
Inspection of containers and railway cars is a way of ensuring that cars are suitable for transporting goods. Unprepared wagons may lead to damage or loss of cargo, underscoring the importance of such inspection.
Pre-loading inspection
Assessment of the condition of the wagons. The surveyor examines the cars for moisture, remnants of previous cargo, mechanical damage, and defects from previous operations.
Inspection during loading
- Documentation of weather conditions, freight car/container arrival time, and transportation details.
- Thorough inspection of the entire container to evaluate for damage, moisture, perforations, and odors indicating mold or decay.
- Supervision of loading procedures to ensure careful handling, minimize damage, and optimize space usage.
- Application of CVG seals to secure the freight car/container.
- Recording of seal numbers and container departure time.
Inspection during unloading
- Document the arrival time of the freight car/container at its destination.
- Observe the opening of the container.
- Verify the authenticity of the unloading documents.
- Inspect the quantity, packaging, and labeling of the goods.
- Verification of goods quantity and condition of shipping cartons.
- Random sampling of cargo to confirm contents match the packaging.
- Supervision of unloading procedures to ensure careful handling, minimize damage, and optimize space usage.
- Oversee the unloading process to detect any potential damage to the goods.
- Assess the cleanliness of the unloading and shipping area.
Inspection of freight cars during storage
Additionally, our inspectors can inspect wagons at intermediate stages, such as along the route or during storage. These services are particularly relevant in cases where the car was opened during transportation, the integrity of the seal was compromised, or there are suspicions of cargo shortage.
Our survey services include:
- Determination and confirmation of cargo quality during loading;
- Independent quantitative and qualitative assessment of cargo and vehicles for any type of transportation, including international shipments, to clarify the extent of responsibility of each party in case of losses incurred during transportation;
- Monitoring of humidity, weight, and temperature, which are critical indicators of cargo quality and transportation conditions;
- Control of cargo securing inside freight cars can prevent damage during transportation, especially during operations like coupling;
- Detailed photo reports.
